Additional Information on Special Election for East Lake Residents
A petition by more than 20 East Lake members was received and validated by the Election Committee. It includes a request for the recall of Director Tom Maloney from the LPOA Board of Directors and includes the following stated grounds:
“Grounds for Recall:
1. Failure to Represent Interests: Director Tom Maloney has failed to adequately
represent the interests and concerns of the East Lake Class residents.
2. Inappropriate Use of Power: There have been multiple allegations of Director Maloney using his position to influence board decisions for personal gain, as highlighted by resident concerns about his manipulative tactics.
3. Violation of Rules and Regulations: Director Maloney’s actions have led to a loss of trust among the residents, which is contrary to the expectations set forth in the LPOA By-Laws.”
(Members may view the full language of the petition at the LPOA Offices upon request.)
Article V, Section 4 of the LPOA By-Laws provides in pertinent part that, ‘[a]ny director may be removed from the Board, with or without case, by a majority vote of the class of members which he represents.”
In response to the petition, and in compliance with Article IX, Sections 2-6 of the By-Laws, a special meeting of East Lake members has been called by the LPOA Board President for purposes of conducting a recall election. This special meeting is for East Lake members. East Lake members may submit their vote by proxy ahead of time. Information regarding all this is being sent to East Lake members.
These are matters for East Lake members, and consequently, neither the Board nor Staff will take a position concerning them.
