Safety in Lakewood
It is nice seeing folks out and about with the warmer weather that we have had. Spring is here and summer is approaching providing ample opportunity for outdoor activities, whether it is around the home, on common ground, on the lake, and soon again at our pools.
Warmer weather and longer days tend to be associated with more incidents of larceny which for Lakewood tend to be largely crimes of opportunity. Simple things, such as keeping car doors locked, garage doors closed (even while working in elsewhere the yard), and exterior doors secured could reduce the risk for “opportunity crime” in our neighborhood. With summer break approaching in the next months, now is also a good time to remind driving teens to keep their cars locked and valuable/desirable items out of sight when meeting up with friends or using our amenities.
Enjoy the season, and as always, if you see something, say something.
