After serving decades of Golfers and Residents, the longstanding project of renovating the deck off the back of the Lakewood Oaks Clubhouse was brought out of the LIP projects list and bid-seeking was approved in March 2024. The deck and back facade of the Clubhouse began changing all the way back in May 2017 when the stairs and door off the Northeast face was torn down and replaced with a window, and a glass door added further down towards the Pro Shop. The previous deck had a partially covered section and allowed for smoking. Bids were received and reviewed, and an initial motion was passed to accept the bid from Wood River, setting a maximum budget for removing the old deck and replacing with a 13’X46’ Deck with a Dry-B-Low system. A Board motion was passed to approve further extending the clubhouse deck across the cart path, with total cost of $95,563 for the deck to be split per the lease addendum A at $81,707 and $35,856 from LPOA & LHC respectively. The remaining funds in the LIP line item ($34,788.14) were used to purchase Tropitone furniture (including high top and regular seating and tables, lounge chairs, firepit, and 8-foot umbrellas). As a result of the extension the Northeast cart path along Par 10 became covered—while still allowing for two golf carts to pass one another.  The new deck added an approximately 20 foot expansion off the original, bringing its new capacity to accommodating up to 46 patrons. It was opened for its first season in October 2024 as not only a refreshed Clubhouse common space for members and residents, but as a new dining option, dubbed The Oaks Terrace, complete with its own exclusive menu options to serve patrons alongside our selection of beers, wines, and liquors.
