The State of Missouri Department of Natural Resources required all private dams to be certified by the State.  F&H retained the services of Woodward & Clyde, one of the most reputable engineering firms in the country, to file the paperwork for the two Lakewood dams.  In the end, the State not only certified the dams; but the report stated that the Lakewood dams were “some of the best built private dams in the State of Missouri”.  There are approximately 100 million gallons of water per foot in these lakes. At the deepest point, the water is close to ninety feet deep.
