Memo from the GM | 2026 Fourth of July Fireworks Show
At the time of writing this, your LPOA staff are hard at work preparing for the busy, event-filled summer ahead. Pools are opening in a little over a month, pontoons are coming out of storage, and outdoor maintenance is being conducted to make sure common grounds look their best for all your outdoor gatherings and activities. It is always a welcome sight to see folks walking, fishing, or otherwise enjoying the neighborhood we take pride in.
Recent communication went out from the Board regarding our search for an authorized pyrotechnic company and exploring alternatives for our fireworks show for this year.
There are many factors that contributed to the situation with the fireworks show and the deviation from what we’ve been able to do in the past.
Aside from the increasingly strict, but necessary regulations on where and how we can shoot fireworks, there have been numerous incidents over the last few years that have harmed our working relationship and trust with our licensed pyrotechnic company; including guests crossing road barriers, verbal and physical altercations with pyrotechnic staff, fireworks being shot at pyrotechnic staff, and general disrespect for the safety parameters set by the pyrotechnic company, fire marshal and LPOA staff.
This type of conduct is not just an inconvenience to the staff and organizers involved, but a serious safety hazard and liability.
For these reasons, our long-time pyrotechnics company has parted ways, and forced us to search elsewhere to try and provide the usual event. While doing what we can to offer this beloved event again, we want to be transparent about the process and what’s led up to this change.
From the General Manager, Mark Krtek
